Indexing Co vs QuickNode
QuickNode provides RPC infrastructure and Streams for real-time event data. Indexing Co delivers indexed contract events directly to your database in your own schema.
You're tracking liquidity events across three DEXs on Arbitrum and Base. You set up QuickNode Streams to pipe Swap, Mint, and Burn events to your endpoint in real time. The events arrive. They're raw, ABI-encoded, in QuickNode's delivery format. Now you write decoding logic, transformation code, and storage logic on your end. You keep that code maintained as contracts update. A fourth DEX goes live on a new chain. You extend the pipeline again.
What you've built is a data pipeline. QuickNode gave you the stream, you built everything downstream of it.
Architecture
QuickNode is RPC infrastructure. It provides fast, globally distributed node access across 130+ networks with 99.99% uptime. On top of raw RPC, QuickNode offers WebSockets, gRPC, and Streams, their real-time data streaming product that fires on-chain events to a destination of your choice.
Streams is the closest QuickNode product to what Indexing Co does. It can deliver raw transaction data, log data, or filtered events as they happen. It's a meaningful step beyond polling RPC endpoints. The data arrives fast, and the network coverage is the broadest of any RPC provider.
The gap is what happens to that data after delivery. QuickNode Streams delivers events in their format, to your endpoint. The decoding, transformation, schema mapping, and storage are yours to build and maintain.
Indexing Co is what lives above the RPC layer. It sources raw block data from nodes (including QuickNode), decodes contract events, applies TypeScript transforms you define, and writes directly to your PostgreSQL database or BigQuery dataset in the schema you specify. The extraction, transformation, and loading are managed. You define what data you want and what shape it should arrive in.
The difference is where the work stops. QuickNode Streams gets the data moving. Indexing Co gets the data into your database, decoded and shaped, without you building or maintaining the transformation layer.

They're Not Mutually Exclusive
QuickNode and Indexing Co occupy different parts of the same stack. QuickNode is upstream node infrastructure, it's one of the RPC providers Indexing Co can source raw chain data from. Teams that need maximum chain coverage for RPC calls, or that use QuickNode Streams for certain real-time use cases, often run Indexing Co alongside for the database delivery layer.
If QuickNode Streams plus your own transformation code is working and the maintenance overhead is acceptable, that's a reasonable setup. When the transformation layer gets complex, multiple chains, multiple contracts, schema changes, enrichment logic, a managed pipeline is the point where the build-it-yourself cost starts to exceed a dedicated service.
