Gnosis Chain Data: Index Payments, Safe, and Circles Onchain

Index Gnosis Chain's xDAI payments, Safe multisig activity, Circles, and decoded contract events in one pipeline, delivered to your own database. No node to run.

Gnosis Chain is an EVM chain built for real-world payments, where gas is paid in the xDAI stablecoin and GNO secures the network through proof-of-stake. In August 2026 GnosisDAO voted to move it from a standalone Layer 1 to a ZK-proven rollup that settles on Ethereum, with the first version targeted around the turn of the year. It is the home chain of Circles and the original settlement chain for Gnosis Pay, Safe is widely used on it, and it leans into utility over speculation: stable, sub-cent fees that merchants and DAOs can plan around. You can read how the team frames it at gnosis.io.

That payments-first design is also what makes the data distinct. Value moves in xDAI rather than a volatile gas token, accounts cluster around Safe smart wallets, and social-payment graphs like Circles produce their own event shapes. Indexing Co covers Gnosis Chain in a single pipeline, decodes the raw chain into the shape you want, and delivers it to your own PostgreSQL, warehouse, or webhook. Real-time and full history, with no node to operate.

Why Gnosis data is hard

xDAI Gas and Stablecoin Payments Gas on Gnosis is paid in xDAI, a USD-pegged stablecoin, so the native value flow is denominated in dollars rather than a volatile gas token. Tracking who paid whom, and reconciling stablecoin transfers against gas spend, needs a model that treats xDAI as both currency and fee, not an afterthought.
Safe Multisig Activity Safe is widely used on Gnosis Chain, so many important accounts are smart-contract multisigs, not plain EOAs. Reading real ownership and intent means decoding Safe execution, owner changes, and module calls, where the signer set and the actual transaction live behind proxy contracts.
Circles Social-Payment Graphs Circles issues a personal currency per person and connects them through trust links, producing a dense graph of mints, transfers, and trust edges. Reconstructing balances and paths through that graph is a stateful problem that a flat transfer scrape cannot answer on its own.
EVM Decoding Across Protocols A real Gnosis dataset spans many contracts at once: CoW Protocol settlements, Gnosis Pay spend, Curve and Balancer pools, and DAO tooling. Each needs its own ABI and event handling, and proxy upgrades make the right ABI a moving target across the chain's history.

What Indexing Co delivers for Gnosis

The DIY Path

Stand up and maintain the whole stack yourself.

  • Run a Gnosis Chain archive node or wire up a third-party RPC.
  • Fetch and decode logs, traces, and receipts against the right ABIs.
  • Model xDAI fees, Safe proxies, and Circles state by hand.
  • Build backfill, reorg handling, and real-time delivery from scratch.
Indexing Co

One pipeline sources, decodes, and delivers Gnosis to your store.

  • Gnosis contract events, xDAI transfers, and decoded txs in a single pipeline.
  • Decoded data, shaped by your JavaScript transform.
  • Lands in your PostgreSQL, BigQuery, warehouse, or webhook.
  • Real-time delivery plus complete backfilled history. No node, no RPC babysitting.

What you can index

EVM data type On Gnosis, for example
Contract events and logs CoW Protocol settlements, Circles trust links
Token transfers (ERC-20, ERC-721) xDAI payments, GNO staking transfers
Decoded transactions and traces Safe multisig executions, Gnosis Pay spend
Protocol and account state Safe owner sets, Circles balances, pool reserves

A transform, not a subgraph

You write the transform in JavaScript, not AssemblyScript, and change it without re-indexing from block zero. Indexing Co runs your function over each block server-side: decode the logs you care about and return rows for your destination.

// Indexing Co transform: reshape each block into rows for your database
function transform(block) {
  const results = [];
  const signatures = [
    'event Transfer(address indexed from, address indexed to, uint256 value)'
  ];

  for (const tx of block.transactions || []) {
    for (const log of tx.receipt?.logs || []) {
      const event = utils.evmDecodeLogWithMetadata(log, signatures);
      if (!event) continue;
      results.push({
        chain: block._network,
        block: Number(block.number),
        tx_hash: tx.hash,
        contract_address: log.address?.toLowerCase(),
        from: event.decoded.from,
        to: event.decoded.to,
        value: event.decoded.value,
      });
    }
  }
  return results;
}

Gnosis with Indexing Co

Run it yourself if

You want full control of node infrastructure and have the team to operate a Gnosis Chain archive node, decode Safe and Circles ABIs, and build backfill and reorg handling in-house.

Use Indexing Co if

You want Gnosis Chain payments, Safe activity, and decoded transactions delivered to your own database, with real-time plus complete history and no infrastructure to run.

FAQ

Do I need to run a Gnosis Chain node?

No. Indexing Co sources Gnosis Chain blocks, logs, and traces for you, including full historical data, so you never operate an archive node or babysit an RPC endpoint.

Can I index xDAI payments and Circles?

Yes. Point a pipeline at xDAI transfers, Gnosis Pay contracts, or the Circles protocol, and we decode the events against the right ABI so you get clean payment and trust-graph rows.

Does Indexing Co handle Safe multisig and proxy upgrades?

Yes. The pipeline decodes Safe executions and tracks proxy implementation changes, so multisig activity and upgradeable contracts stay correct as they evolve.

Where does the Gnosis data go?

Into your own destination: PostgreSQL, BigQuery, a warehouse, or a webhook. You define the output schema and own the storage.

Can I get complete historical Gnosis data?

Yes. We backfill from your chosen start block and merge it with real-time data, so your Gnosis Chain dataset is gap-free from genesis forward if you want it.
