Fantom Data: Index Opera Contracts and DeFi
Index Fantom Opera's contract events, token transfers, and decoded transactions in one pipeline, delivered to your own database. Real-time and complete historical data, no node to run.
Fantom Opera is one of the original high-speed EVM Layer 1s, a chain that ran on the Lachesis aBFT consensus with the FTM token and became home to a deep, long-running DeFi ecosystem: SpookySwap, Beethoven X, Geist, Scream, Yearn, and a long tail of vaults and yield protocols. Years of swaps, lends, and liquidations settled here, which makes Opera one of the richest historical DeFi datasets in EVM. You can read how the team frames the network at fantom.foundation. The same team upgraded to a new Layer 1, Sonic, with the S token, and now runs Opera as legacy infrastructure while the FTM-to-S migration route stays available and the full chain history stays preserved.
That history is the data problem. Opera is a mature EVM chain (chain ID 250) with millions of blocks of contract events, token transfers, and decoded calls stretching back to genesis. Indexing Co covers Fantom Opera in a single pipeline, decodes the raw chain into the shape you want, and delivers it to your own PostgreSQL, warehouse, or webhook. Real-time and full history, with no node to operate.
Why Fantom data is hard
What Indexing Co delivers for Fantom
Stand up and maintain the whole stack yourself.
- Run a Fantom Opera archive node or wire up a third-party RPC.
- Fetch and decode logs, traces, and receipts against the right ABIs.
- Track proxy upgrades and per-protocol event schemas by hand.
- Build backfill, reorg handling, and real-time delivery from scratch.
One pipeline sources, decodes, and delivers Fantom to your store.
- Fantom Opera contract events, token transfers, and decoded txs in a single pipeline.
- Decoded data, shaped by your JavaScript transform.
- Lands in your PostgreSQL, BigQuery, warehouse, or webhook.
- Real-time delivery plus complete backfilled history. No node, no RPC babysitting.
What you can index
| EVM data type | On Fantom, for example |
|---|---|
| Contract events and logs | SpookySwap swaps, Beethoven X pool joins, lending borrows |
| Token transfers (ERC-20, ERC-721) | FTM and stablecoin transfers, PaintSwap NFT mints |
| Decoded transactions and traces | Yearn and Tarot vault interactions, router calls |
| Protocol and account state | Lending positions, vault and farm balances |
A transform, not a subgraph
You write the transform in JavaScript, not AssemblyScript, and change it without re-indexing from block zero. Indexing Co runs your function over each block server-side: decode the logs you care about and return rows for your destination.
// Indexing Co transform: reshape each block into rows for your database
function transform(block) {
const results = [];
const signatures = [
'event Transfer(address indexed from, address indexed to, uint256 value)'
];
for (const tx of block.transactions || []) {
for (const log of tx.receipt?.logs || []) {
const event = utils.evmDecodeLogWithMetadata(log, signatures);
if (!event) continue;
results.push({
chain: block._network,
block: Number(block.number),
tx_hash: tx.hash,
contract_address: log.address?.toLowerCase(),
from: event.decoded.from,
to: event.decoded.to,
value: event.decoded.value,
});
}
}
return results;
}
Fantom with Indexing Co
You want full control of node infrastructure and have the team to operate a Fantom Opera archive node, decode every protocol's ABIs, and build backfill and reorg handling in-house.
You want Fantom Opera contract events, token transfers, and decoded transactions delivered to your own database, with real-time plus complete history and no infrastructure to run.

FAQ
Do I need to run a Fantom node?
No. Indexing Co sources Fantom Opera blocks, logs, and traces for you, including full historical data, so you never operate an archive node or babysit an RPC endpoint.
Can I index any protocol on Fantom?
Yes. Point a pipeline at any Fantom Opera contract or set of contracts, from SpookySwap and Beethoven X history to PaintSwap or your own deployments, and we decode the events against the right ABI.
Does Indexing Co handle Fantom reorgs and proxy upgrades?
Yes. The pipeline accounts for chain reorganizations and tracks proxy implementation changes so your decoded data stays correct as contracts upgrade.
How does Fantom relate to Sonic?
Sonic is the successor Layer 1 from the same team, with the S token, and Opera now runs as legacy infrastructure while the FTM-to-S migration stays available. Opera's chain history is preserved, and we index both Fantom Opera and Sonic.
Can I get complete historical Fantom data?
Yes. We backfill from your chosen start block and merge it with real-time data, so your Fantom Opera dataset is gap-free from genesis forward if you want it.
